If you go down to the woods today.....

You will see lots of beautiful colours and textures. I'm lucky enough to live right next to Richmond Park in Southwest London and I love to go walking there. Today I decided to take my camera and take some snaps. These are the results.
Isn't the yellow amazing? They look so juicy too.
I loved this little guy. When they were preening their feathers, you could see this beautiful strip of purple/blue. A nice surprise under all those brown feathers.
How freaky looking are these mushrooms! I've also developed a new love for trees. Especially the ones that are bare or old. I can assure you I will definitely be going back to the park with my camera. Maybe next time I can get some shots of deer.

New Head Candy

I went to SPITALFIELDS MARKET and Brick Lane at the weekend with a few friends. I love all the different kinds of stalls, but sometimes it can get a bit repetitive. However, I did find one stall where a guy was selling all kinds of scarves for £1 each!!! I was in scarf heaven. There was about 5 large crates with every kind of scarf under the sun in them. I have cropped hair, so I often like to wear something in my hair to jazz it up a bit.

Lovely aren't they?!I think I have a slight preference for the blue and brown one though! I imagine wearing these in my hear with a nice slick of red lippy. I can assure you I will be making tracks back to SPITALFIELDS MARKET to bulk up my collection. Well you can't go wrong for a quid, can you!?

So with my lovely scarves I will be wearing some red nail polish and lipstick to add to the retro feel. Here are some of my favourites from my make-up bag.

NAILS

These are my favourite reds. The first two are by BARRY M. Barry M is great if you want some crazy coloured eye shadows, nail polishes and eye crayons. The last polish is by CIATE, which is slightly more expensive than Barry M. Although, they do the most amazing white chocolate nail polish remover! It's amazing! Smells so good......

LIPS

People, if you do not know about Bourjois lip stain you have been missing out. I LOVE this stuff and so does my boyfriend....that sounds odd doesn't it?!Anyway, the reason he loves it is because it just doesn't come off! On a night out, I'd probably only reapply it once. Just layer it up and let it dry before you go out. The only downfall to the Bourjois lip stain collection is that there is only 5 or 6 shades.

Rimmel Vinyl Lip Gloss. This takes likes strawberries and has a slight shimmer to it, so it's perfect for during the day.

Lipstick Lock is definitely essential if you have some lipstick on. You don't want to be leaving any lip stain's where you shouldn't ;O)

Let's stop for a minute and have a think.

Yesterday whilst waiting for my train, I overhear two young girls talk about calories and losing weight. They were no more than 12 years old. This immediately saddened me and also made me feel concerned for them and angry. But angry at who?? One of the girls spoke about eating Special K cereal to lose weight and then proceeded to hitch up her already too short school skirt.

I worry for young girls like this. They are a product of our society and the values we hold. Who is to blame?? Their parents? Their secondary school? The magazines we read? It saddens me that any 12 year old male or female, thinks like this. I'm probably coming across as an old "fuddy duddy", but maybe it's about time that we got a bit old fashioned.

Talking about weight issues, New York Fashion Week is using Plus Size models for the first time EVER!!

(Check out the above video)

I don't think it should be an issue. After all, shouldn't every type of woman be represented at the fashion week!
Oh wait, maybe women that are a size 14 or 16 aren't interested in how they dress or what the latest trends are............I do hope you noted my sarcasm there!

I'm all for different shapes and sizes. Skinny, round, tall  and short. Just as long as the person is HEALTHY.

I would love to hear what you think about these issues. We are all here because we love fashion and reading Vogue and Elle etc. But are the magazines and models we admire promoting healthy images to the two 12 year old school girls I overheard today????

Khaki.....you know I love you.

Khaki has the quite the reputation and a lot of history behind it. During the Second Boer War, the British Army were known as Khakis because of their uniform. For me the colour represents authority, but it also airs a certain casual feel too. This is probably down to GAP! I recently purchased a khaki shirt dress in the TOPSHOP sale; it's a Topshop Unique garment so it was almost a sin not to buy at for £15!!!
I l.o.v.e this dress. During Winter I am going to wear it with chunky knit tights, thick woolly socks and my every trusty worker boots. It will also accommodate my "winter food baby belly" just fine......

Please excuse the creases!I would have ironed them, but you ain't my mother ;O)
These fit so well, I was going to buy a pair in every colour!! I got them from MISS SELFRIDGE. I love the little pleat detailing in the front and the turn ups on the bottom. They are lovely and slim on the leg, so I'll either invest in a pair of brogues or I can sex them up with heels. I thought these may suffice!
Now we're talking! Power Shoes with Power Pants.....I think I just cringed slightly on the inside.

Isn't the detail on this ring sweet??You'd never guess I got it in H&M!! I loves me a bargain.

It's been a while....

I don't like leaving it so long to write a new post! But I've been away for my birthday (25.....oh where do the years go to?). Tom and I went to the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. It was a great weekend. Although it did rain  a lot!!!!So my choice of footwear was a good aul' pair of green wellies.

We also took a little tour through Brugges. It's a beautiful city with far too many amazing chocolate shops. We visited one shop which had a chocolate dragon in the window and orange slices covered in chocolate. Queue embarrassing drooling.
Brugges is also a very beautiful city. I wish we could have spent longer there :(
Then it was on to Amsterdam to visit my good friend Blake and his missus Hester. Oh and lest I forget Bob the cat!
I received the most beautiful bunch of Sunflowers on the morning of my 25th (how apt, being in the land of Van Gogh). I of course was DYING with a hangover.....Belgian beer is not my friend anymore.

And then it was home again. Back to good aul' Blighty.
